Domain Name Selection Guidance
Short as possible but as long as necessary. Avoid hyphens and numerals if you can.
Meaningful, memorable. Easy to say, to understand, and to type. The "radio test" asks, if I say my domain name out loud, is it easily understood by the listener? If you have to spell it out, then your domain name is possibly causing some confusion.
The more mainstream the TLD (the suffix such as .com or .net, etc), the better. However, in some cases a more niche TLD might work well for you. For example, a realtor might want "James.house". Or a chef might want "Tex-Mex.food". In fact, some folks might want multiple domain names for the same website. In our own example, DestinationWebsites.com and DestiWebs.com both take you to the same place.
